The Salem Murders

Introduction
"The Salem Murders" is a co-op game, in which the players take on the roles of monks, who enter the town of Salem to exorcise it from an unspeakable evil. The town lays silent, as a great mystery connected to the recent witch persecutions befell it. Supernatural events are occurring, and strange lights are seen in the skies. It's up to the monks to help stop the evil, but they best watch out, that they themselves do not become prey to the darkness.
Type: Co-op Horror

Design
"The Salem Murders" is a work in progress, which will involve the players exploring, solving puzzles and working together, to progress through the gameplay and narrative stages of the game.
Some of the stages open up revelations in the story and offer various degrees of tension and can also unlock greater parts of the setting, which all connects back to the town of Salem. One of the big obstacles for the players will be to try and run or hide from a witch-like monster, who stalks the entire environment and is hence designed to work dynamically. The goal is to create for unique gameplay moments, as the witch and other elements can weave into each other at non-linear sections.
Puzzles are often designed, that players need to split up to activate different objects at the same time at differing locations in order to unlock progress. This forces certain players to have to be alone for some of the portions of the game and can cause greater tension. There are also two safe spaces, the witch can never reach. In one of them the players can study a map (points are unlocked on the map, after they have been there in the environment) to help navigate the other players. In addition to help counter the heavy fog, some larger landmarks are placed in the environment (e.g. Church) to aid with the player orientation.
